Printing

In order to print you have to

• Have credit on a FAUCard (more info at Studierendenwerk)
• Use the print function in your program (e.g., Firefox, Okular, etc.) (Ctrl+P)
• Select the printer you want to use and start the print job
• Insert your FAUCard into the printer
• Select the following buttons on the printer in this order:
  • Home
  • Auftragsbox
  • Gespeicherte / Private Druckaufträge
  • Select your username (in the format be15piel)
  • Check the box next to the print job
  • Select Print
  • Set the number of copies and confirm
  • After printing, press the “STOP” (red) button on the card reader
  • Wait for the “Ready” message and remove the card
• Troubleshoot some common problems

For scanning, follow the steps outlined next to each scanner.

Modes

To print on both sides, select the appropriate option in the application's print dialog

Do it

To print the file script.pdf at printer ps2ccip use the following shell command: lp -d ps2ccip script.pdf

To print from a document viewer, open the printing dialog and insert lpr -Pps2ccip into the Command Line field.

Problems

How to abort print jobs?

Follow the Howto abort a print job instructions on the poster near the printer.

The printer says "Papierstau" and refuses to do anything.

Please don't fumble with the device and ignore the instructions of the printer and instead contact us.
